    Hey everybody,

I had my 32 rewired by a shop a number of years ago when I wasn't running a hood. Recently I went to put the hood back and..well.. as you can see from the pictures I've run into a problem. The way it's routed now the hood side will crush and possibly cut the wiring so this isn't going to work. I'm at a bit of loss on the best way to route this bundle. Should I drill a hole in the frame rail to run it through to the front? Run it underneath the radiator support? Any advice on how to route this wiring bundle and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Looks all kinda loose. Can you slide it inwards a little and maybe put a clamp on the inner boxing plate?

and yes, I did get some asphalt covered sheathing but haven’t gotten around to swapping out the crappy plastic stuff yet.

For the smaller wiring tubing you could use something like this from Denis Carpenter

If I drill holes to run it through the frame I think I'm definitely going to need to separate out that main trunk line.

The largest opening you can fish the wire thru is the boxed frame opening. You may have to create a hole somewhere near the firewall to begin pushing it in, if there isn't an open area already. Also, those wires crossing in front of the radiator need to be secured rather than just hanging.

Did a couple 32s with a single trunk line that came through firewall feet area on drivers side only and into frame then out in front of Vega steering box where I “Y’d” it and ran to headlights/signals. Found it easier to split each headlight in the cab and run separately to each front corner (smaller bundle). Here’s a pic of later project to show where I go through firewall (in footwell). Do same on both sides.
    Please ignore stereo mount.

Pics of “outta firewall and into frame rail” and “out of frame rail and up/out to headlight/signal”.

These frame rails are the weirdest thing. THe whole thing is boxed except the ends.I thought the wires in front of the radiator were attached until I took the shell off and realized they were just tucked into it. Reason #445 I stopped having other people work on my cars.

I'd open up two decent sized holes through the boxing plate to improve access. Put in a pull wire through each hole for the inevitable future wiring additions. Pics of my full fendered roadster where I ran the wiring behind the radiator and up the sides. On the bottom I used a couple of zip ties through the radiator core.

Do you think it matters if I run the headlight wires behind the radiator as you did or in front as they're currently situated?

All the headlight wiring on my 32 is run on the back of the crossmember, not the front. Just keep it tied up tight so the pulley won't tangle it.

If you plan on a 32 grill, run it behind works well.

The same thing that I thought! I have been wiring cars for years and would NEVER allow such sloppy work out the door. Function and style can both be
    achieved with good planning.

IMG_0367.jpeg Do you happen to know what this fitting on the side of the radiator shell is called? I don’t need the whole headlight conduit just that fitting and not having much luck.

    Try Delikon Flexible Conduit Fittings.

Thank you so much! I would have never found that on my own.
