It would look better with a little bit of a rake and Torque Thrust wheels

If you're set on two toning it why not along the bottom under the chrome strip, just the top or maybe both. How about it Unclebrad want to give it a try?

The 1960 Invicta was one of Buick's most flamboyant designs. I think two-tones, even the stock colors don't look quite right. If you look at the way the light and shadow play over the voluptuous curves, that's all you need. Maybe go with a modern micro metallic, if you like.

  14. I'd go for a metallic paint, as the higher contrast that you get between lights and darks will really bring the shapes out of the body.

Is anybody interested in adding 56 Chrysler headlights a 1950 Ford? IMG_7274.jpeg IMG_7322.jpeg

Thanks I’m not really seeing the headlight buckets there but that grill is interesting. I’ve been thinking about designing a custom one piece grill insert that is based on that egg crate pattern of the 56 Chrysler. Tthe grill surround would be more rectangular with rounded corners, kinda like a 55 Chevy. Of course it would have to fit in the space available on a 1950 Ford, if anybody wants to try that.

  18. HA! I totally misread your post. I just assumed you wanted the grille.

By the way, I think I’m pretty much sold on this idea of adapting the 56 Chrysler headlights and a custom grill insert, based on that Chrysler grill design. This really could turn into something, so I appreciate all of the work you guys do.

I put some '56 Ford headlight bezels on a '54 Ford. The fenders had been capped and I was 16. Don't think my bodywork would measure up to today's standards. But I thought it was pretty cool at the time.
    No pictures, sorry, not sorry:rolleyes:

This version uses the headlight buckets and a grille designed after the '55 Chrysler, but expanded to fill the space.

I like it. If I can find a picture head-on like that, of a Ford with a Mercury grill surround, that would give it a more oval shape Good job

Hey guys, wondering if you can work your magic on this pickup. Possible to unchannel the cab (chassis same color as body) and make the grille shell stick height? Oh and maybe turn the roof green too!

I gave it another go, using a 1951 Mercury surround. By the time I was done I thought, it might be easier to find a 1950 Canadian Monarch and swap the whole grille and surround!
