This is a Ford bearing retainer / Transmission mount if you are going to convert your LaSalle to a short tail shaft and closed drive, known as a torque tube. This has been painted and both surfaces machined and modified to bolt up to the rear of the LaSalle. There are 2 models to choose from. 78-7085-B were from 37-41 and have a 10" hole center on the ears. The 99A-7085 were from 1939 to 1941 Mercury and 41-42 Ford and have a 8" hole center on the ears.
