Technical help identify gm column

    I have this tilt column that came from a project car i bought and i dont know how to buy parts for it. can you help ?

    1980-87 GM tilt column. Don’t know what it came out of but it doesn’t matter because all parts will interchange except the lock cylinder (bolt in or clip in). Got to remove the lock plate and wiper switch to know for sure but most likely a bolt in.

    might find those columns started use a few years early, ie. 77 Impala had them

    The basic column began in 1969. In 1977 or so, the dimmer switch was added. Variations of this also came on Mopars, International, AMC, and Jeep.

    Looks like the 86 Grand Prix column I have.
     
  7. I know that on the G bodies, the wiper switch was moved to the column in 82. Also that the 78 G chassis used a harder to find splined connection at the lower end, vs. the later common double D shaft
