I know there will be a few, but how many I know what this is? This one came out in 57. It will be up for auction in October.

It's a Corvette fuel injection unit.

I can remember that in the mid 60's I knew where about 4 of those were sitting because few people had the skill or patience to deal with them.

There is a vendor at HERSHEY that specializes in Corvette F.I. units. Some of them cost more than my car.

GM Rochester Ramjet fuel injection from a Corvette. Don't see the distributor that drives the fuel pump.

It could be from a Bel-Air too!

FWIW I recall the Winters snowflake was only cast on the very earliest injection plenums. And no, I’m not a gold chainer Corvette guy, I just read a lot.

Early 57 unit--looks to be a 4520? unit--my 57 Fuely Bel Air had one since new. Drove it a good bit thru the years-ran fine-only issue then was it would load up at high al***ude. We redid the car twice-once in 77-78 and again in 2006. The picture in the gr*** with wife's 55 was in 1980-the others after 2nd redo in 05-06

When they were right, did the perform better than the carburetors of the day?

My dad rebuilt one of those units on a '57 convertible restoration. Believe it was a Bel-Aire. Pics of the rebuilt looked like nightmare fuel.
