Event Coverage Lyon Air Museum Hot Rods on the Tarmac 2024

Went to the Lyon Air Museum 2024 Hot Rods on the Tarmac event today with my daughter. We had a blast hanging out with friends at a great event with some******in cars and some neat old airplanes. My car wasn’t accepted for display so we just took a regular car and I’m no photographer and only take pictures of stuff I like but I figured I had enough to share with y’all. If anyone wants to add their photos to this thread, come on down and do it!!!!

 

Round motors, hot rods and the day spent with your kid. Don't get much better than that. Thanks for the pics

 

That’s exactly how I feel. Don’t leave out the hanging out with some great old friends and always a few new ones!!!

A couple of B-24's looks right at home with those sweet rides then add a B-17 and some vintage bikes is the icing on the cake love it!

Nice to see DEUCARI there. That car sounds incredible! If you haven't heard a vintage Ferrari V12 motor run, you need to listen to this car run. One of the things I miss most about California is the car shows. So much traditional and vintage stuff shows up. Here in the mid west we seem to still be in the tweed and pastel era. You have to look hard to find the cool stuff here. Thanks for the pictures.

 

Great turn out of some fine cars, hope to see the plane collection some time.

I found the General Lyon biography on line, I always find it interesting to read about how people made the money to allow them to collect great cars and airplanes. Sounds like he was a really nice guy. Bob
