Yes, that is the one a lot of people are using. It gives you a faster ratio steering without being over boosted and has none of the under the car hydraulic cylinders and lines like the original power steering does. The Borgson works well with the stock steering arms and suspension. If you are going to a Mustang 2 type set up then you will have a rack and pinion setup and no steering box.

Look for a local metal supply shop. Around here Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, etc. all have some small pieces of sheet metal but it's usually very thin gauge, you'll want at least 20 gauge, 18 gauge would be better. "The lower the number the thicker the metal"
16 gauge would be too thick and tough to work with.

Rear end strength depends on driving style. 5000 rpm sidestepping of the clutch with 10 psi tires can break the weakest part. If not using an overdrive the highest gear is 3.21. When I installed a 3 speed later automatic I wanted a higher rear ratio to have a lower rpm on the highway so I changed rearend but if I would have been happy with the 3.21’s I would have left the stock one.

Guys , adjusted engine for level side to side worked on getting trans mount installed. Looks like transmission hits floor before I can get mount in so I’m going to drop it about an inch .

Thanks , it’s been about 20years since I took on a project like this . Reminds me of how much I enjoyed working on cars before life got in the way .

So the trans hits the tunnel , so I took matters into my hands and lowered the cross member by welding some plate to the bottom of it sticking out 1 1/2” on each side. Tomorrow I’m going to drill 2 holes on each side and bolt to bottom of frame. I will drill the 3 holes on each side after that .

Which headers are you using? I had no issues using the Hedman headers in the FAQ

I used the Hedman headers and they worked well. I made my motor mounts though. The Mustang fox body mounts did not work for me. I also tried the Falcon mounts but they sat too low. In hindsight I wish I had used the Falcon mounts and spaced them up 1/2" inch. My T5 transmission shifter hit the floor and I had to make a 1" tall metal box to cover it. I did cover the box in vinyl and it looks good. I also put a U in my seat so the shifter would work.

    Where are you in NC?

I am in the Cornelius area and you can come see my application if you are close.

I think Dos Cincos picture is of the Hedman Headers.

I can't stress the solutions found in the FAQ's strongly enough. Many have been down the same road you find yourself on now and have mapped many of these issues out for us.
