There were 2 drives going in the place that had 2 lanes of car for a good 1/8th mile. There had to be as many cars as last yrs show. It was a good time for all.

By the time that the FLOOD gates were opened @ 9am yesterday, the south gate that I was directing traffic from had four lanes. All cars were parked quickly and by noon it went over to self park.

We volunteers defiunately did get a few greath thank-yous; first off, the shirt ROCKS, a sweet glass tumbler with the HCPU logo, a window decal and TONS of thanks from the Czars.

Dumb Whore (Katherin or "DW") definately did a fantastic job keeping everything going smoothly all day yesterday.

My feet hurt, my knees are shot from walking, my back is killing me, I-80, next time I'll drive across the corn fields to get there, it'll be smoother. Won't be able to shave for a couble of days cause of the wind burn, what else??? Did I tell you it was a bang up job AGAIN, at the Pile Up. Down at the Fools bar on Friday night was no slouch either.

BUT....Next year, could we have some 55 gal burn barrels out side the gates for some heat????? The coffee and donuts was great, but damn it was cold out there.

Denise, your cookies hit the spot..good thing you didn't have any warm milk to go with them, or I would have fell asleep right there next to the fence. Glad I got to meet ya, and put a face with the handle.

I wonder what it meant when I got my piece of cake and I got the "Rasberry".

Well, only 363 more days to go.....

I'm glad you guys had a good time! We sure did! We couldn't have done it without help from all the volunteers and guys screening at the gate, like the Suedes, Blacktop Barons, and Voodoo KIngs.

The unofficial official count is 702 cars in the gate, but we suspect a miscount and will go at it again after we catch our breaths!

Thanks to the Hot Rod Hucksters, Psychobilly Kadillacs, Ace Brown & the Helldivers, The Bottletones, Baron von Otto Matic, The Stranger and the Camaro Rouge for providing killer music.

A special thanks to DW for keeping the Czars and volunteers organized.

It was a really great show with really great people. The weather even cooperated... for the most part. I think it got up to 60 during the day and wasn't too bad Saturday night.

  13. Russo - I just caught this post - that is a great pic and I am putting it on my desktop background. Really sums it up for me...

It was a blast for sure. I am as sore as I've ever been and my face has a "patina" that I can only refer to as "freezer burn".

Guess I'll have to stick my head in a giant Zip-Loc (tm) next year...

We had a great time! Except for some problems with a surly night watchman at our hotel, everything was fantastic.
But you need to rename it "The Dustiest Show.... " heh

Thanks Czars for keeping this going.
DW - you really did an amazing job.

I recounted.. 702.. but i am digging through it again.. just to be sure.. way more spectators though.. like a thousand more than last year.. still working through that number though.

I wish hellbound hooch was up.. it would have been a real party then :)

    I sort of think it's the anti-good guys in a way. :)

Which i am toootally fine with.

No way can this event be described or measured without being there. This is my second year (still pissed about missing the first two) and it's now on the list of "don't miss under penalty of death" event.
The Chrome Czars deserve a huge ATTABOY for this one, along with everyone who made it happen. What a way to wind down the year and get inspired to spend the winter building. Thanks!!!

if this was only your second year, then technically you missed the first three. This was the 5th year of the show.

I talked to the owner of that blue and white car. Talk about an asshole. He totally had that "I'm better than you because my car's not rusty" attitude. Hey Nick, you and me should track him down and kick his ass...
