Haven't seen this in what,30 years??,maybe it'll be a big disappointment considering car chase **** in modern movies, but it impressed the hell out of us when it came out.I remember sitting in the theater back in the 70s,thinking it was the coolest **** I'd ever seen.Or maybe I'm just an old fart

I'm only 26 and I love this movie....mainly for the cheese factor though....sorry....I've got it around here somewhere and should watch it considering I'm home with a cold and nyquil isnt working, I bet this flick would knock me right out.

If u watch this very cool flick, then note, that the color of it changes sometimes. That is, when they filmed illegally in real traffic!!!
And when the "Eleanor" hits the pole near the higway on the offramp, it wasn't planned! This was a real accident, but they kept it, cause it was cool!
The guy H.B. Halicky was a stuntman, and Junkjard owner, who decided it was time for him, to become a director.
He also had a 56 Buick Kustom in the 50's. A picture of it is in a "Rodders Journal" Kustom Article by Pat Ganahl.

    I love those 70's sungl***es in the Caddy!:D

The original Gone is a great movie for a few resons.

It was done by a stuntman and his buddies on next to 0 budget without the backing of a big movie company.

The car chases are all real, filmed on sunday because the guy who gave out permits to close streets down didn't work on sunday.

All the stunts are real, no CGI, no blue screen ****.

It might not be as exciting as some of the modern action movies but it's one of the greatest examples of "guerilla filmmaking" ever.

    Love "The Junkman" too.

Haven't seen "Deadline auto theft" yet.

H.B. Halicky was killed when a water tower fell on him after a stunt went bad. He was filming "Gone in sixty seconds 2" at the time.

P.S. When he rams the Cadillac at the dealership and it hits 2 or 3 other cars in the lineup it's an accident. The first car was one from the junkyard and was the only one they intended to hit. The second and third car apparently were dealer cars and they (the movie makers) had to pay to have them repaired.
