Those small and big blocks are slated for large trucks, look at the coolant byp*** systems from the water pump to the intake manifold on those small blocks and the unique bell housings.

Kinda makes arm restraints a good idea.

Hilborn, with the valley cover cast integrally with the injectors, these are cast vertically as compared to the early, smaller Hilborn’s that were angled and used a separate valley cover.

This is one of the many examples of why open ****pit cars started requiring hand tethers. And the tethers lead to paddle shifters, which led to ........ How safety advances our hobbies and sports.

When I was racing sprints on dirt in the early 80's arm restraints were just showing up. A padded strap just above each elbow, buckled in with the 5 way harness. Cheap, I think around 20 bucks. Didn't restrict driving movement, but kept your arms inside the cage.
One guy said he didn't need them, he'd have such a white knuckle grip on the wheel that his arms couldn't get out. Someone else mentioned to him, "That only works if you're awake.". He had a set the next week.
I never heard of hand tethers. Makes sense on the little lay down Indy style cars I guess.
