  1. First drive of the year, first drive with the four barrel on it…good thing I have a Torsen for the rear end, it needs it now. 07308678-2F35-4FC1-887A-0EEF63B7EB9A.jpeg

First time taking it to work this year. Yes that’s still snow on the ground.
Need to fix the gas pedal placement and I’m pretty sure it’ll take more timing as well.

I have Grimshaw saved as one of the locations in my weather app. It's always interesting to see what your weather is up there.

  6. it’s interesting for us to see what our weather is going to be as well!! Two days ago it snowed, yesterday and today are beautiful!

  7. So in a different thread @Jeff Norwell mentioned that him and I have made a deal where he is getting a bunch of Ford parts and I am getting a short bell 331 Hemi. I cannot say enough good things about Jeff, he is truly a good guy and I’m honored to now call him a friend.
I will be building the Hemi for the Fargo, could take a few years to get it finished so I did what any logically thinking hot rodder would do and went and found a 6-71 blower core…I must have a blower on an early Hemi. It’s some sort of rule I’m sure!!!

I forgot to take pictures of it in its natural state, I was so excited to start on it, this afternoon at work I put it on the mill and milled of the side tabs and ran the fly cutter over the bottom of the case to flatten it out, I’m tracking down bearings and seals and then it will be reassembly time. If this thing makes 4-5 psi on the Hemi I’m a happy guy!! Follow along as I try my damnest to screw up a perfectly good blower.;)

  10. Lane ,
There are several places to get bearings and seals .
Good vibrations in California is an excellent group to deal with,,,,,courteous people,,,,good prices,,,,,very good shipping rates .
Also,,,,,the bearings can be purchased from parts stores,,,,my son found them at O Reillys .
Many places to purchase parts and gaskets,,,,,just start shopping,,,,take your time .
It will be a while before you have your Hemi together .

  11. The bearings are coming from my local parts place. Not too worried about the drive and stuff right now, just going to put it together for now. Then focus on the engine once it gets here.

This reminds of a little Red Ram hemi a guy I knew had. Didn’t say he was selling it. Went by his place and he had the engine out. I offered to buy it but said he sold it the day before. I thought it would be cool in my ‘42 FARGO......

Yes.. Lane and I are doing this swap..... Our biggest(and Only) obstacle is....... transport.
But I am pretty certain we have a solution.
I need to see this happen.

  14. Of course we live across the country from each other, if the price of fuel wasn’t so high I’d be heading east….

  15. Stop by if you come through Sault Ste. Marie!

  17. So no updates for awhile… the little truck was phenomenal then disaster struck! (Cue suspenseful music) IMG_5183.jpeg got me a Bambi on the way to work last October, so the old truck got parked as I was ass deep in the Barracuda project. I figured now that it’s being driven I should get the truck back together.

Got everything straightened out and a coat of epoxy (the green) and some primer. Get it blocked out and some paint on it and put the old girl back together.

  18. Did you ever find the piece of chrome man? Happy to see you at it

  19. I found one, not nearly as nice as the one that was on it, but I’ll work a couple dents out of it and polish it up, it’ll be fine.

  20. Lane, that’s a great looking truck! I was wondering if you had repaired it.

  21. Thanks man, honestly I had a hard time getting going on it, I think it was a little disheartening. Finally I put on my big boy panties and started!

  23. I completely understand, I hit a deer with one of my Harleys in April and didn’t finish it until late June. I enjoy working on bikes, but had a hard time getting motivated on this one.

Accident vehicles are always hard to work on. One minute they are fine, the next they’re fucked up. But there is no mystery on what they will look like after being repaired. If you did your job right they should look the same. No surprises!
