Projects Recreating the jesse lopez coupe

  1. Probably a good idea....I'd be like Steve Martin in the Jerk....."I need this paddle ball game, this chair and this....." and pulling it all back out of the sale.

You could just buy it all back. Think of all the money you’ll make at the same time!

I'm going to have to think about that for a while, SS.

I'm showing a shot of the driveway area at son Dans place. This was yesterday, it shows the activity on the site of where his "shop" will be built. As you can see all we have is the area that will eventually contain all the concrete partially prepped.

The explanation for this is all the rain that this area has received over the previous 4-5 months. All the contractors were backed up because of the saturated state that the ground was in. So, what does this all mean now?

It means that life continues to be a period of adjustments. IMG_0149.jpg

Well now its August, soon to be September, it's lookin' like Dans shop isn't going to make it in time to be useful for the Mecum auction next month. I'm thinking that this might not be the best economy to try and get a "right" price for something at the auction anyway.

The "estate sale" is this weekend and we've had a family member tell us that some of the things that we were told probably won't sell, have. All good news.

Well, we've finally reached critical mass. I was wondering how/when this was going to stop, and now I know, NOW! Gramma has been caught again trying to see if I've noticed that next thing that's sitting in our "front room", lookin' at where it might find it's place in this "adventure."

We go every Wednesday to a men's group meeting for breakfast. The guys meet in their room, and the wives eat out in the "common area" of the restaurant. When the husbands are done, they'll usually come out and sit with the girls for a bit. I hadn't been there too long before I noticed the biggest bottle of her brand of coffee creamer that I'd ever seen sitting on the next table, with its handle to lift it up with clearly visible. I looked over at my wife and said, "that's not going home with us, we have no place to put it", in an elevated voice. Her reply was that it belongs to the restaurant.

I'm going to be alright; I just need a little rest.

Sorry to hear of all that life has thrown at you. For some unexplained reason Ive not been getting notices about post to your site since the end of March. I know for a fact you have to be tough to get old. My problem doesn’t realize that my body is 82 years old and still try’s to do stuff that I did in my 30’s. I know you can relate to this. Stay safe.

Thanks, Frank, for checkin' in on me, and that goes for everyone else.
This year is the year that that I have to learn how things work in the real world when you are in my age group.

I turned 82 last Monday and I understand exactly what you mean. My 2's and my 8's have been jockeying for position for many decades, and this is the configuration that they have arrived at, and this might be the last battle that they'll have.

The only consolation and comfort that I have is that I've learned over 50 years now that everything doesn't happen for the good in this life, but everything does work together for the good when you're in the right family. The one that has my Lord and Saviour at its head.

    I highly recommend it.

  13. Happy Birthday Jerry! Your attitude and perspective makes all the difference in such a challenging time....it's challenging sure, but it's another temporary station in this life and The Boss knows what He's doing. :)

    Happy Birthday Jerry

  16. Getting old reminds me of the old saw... 'What I used to do all night now takes all night to do.' Until you reach 'that point' where even if you have all night, you still can't do it... LOL

  17. Well Jer l just spent the last week reading this whole saga, and all l can say is l'm impressed! Your dedication to faithfully reproduce the Jesse Lopez coupe is outstanding , l salute you and wish you the very best. Looks like l will spend another week reading about your previous triumph, at 70 l am still a newbie in the custom world- it sure must have been cool back then.

Things are still happening, though less dramatic, electricity, a/c, insulation, etc. IMG_8246.jpg
