Technical Starting a 47 Merc convertible

G'day l have recently bought a 47 Merc convertible, it came from South Africa and is right hand drive, it has nosebleed stance and l would like to remedy that. Iwas thinking of reversed eye main leaf and a few leaves taken out both ends but how many leaves? Will l still need a dropped axle as l am going for a look like Marcia Campbell's with 46 Olds grille? The 59A turned out to be s**** (6/8 stuck pistons and one alloy one iron head) with a Dulux reco so a 66 289 is going in and auto trans.

I reversed the eyes on mine. I think I took out two or three of the smaller leaves. It doesn't put it in the weeds but it's a start.

 

Thanks , mine has a wrap leaf as well, l will try three and see how it goes.
