I have newer Mustangs around here, but the newest I ever owned was a wrecked 1970 Boss 302.

I had this one from 73 to 93. It went through many changes but this is what it looked like when I sold it. 11 to1 302 with 4V Cleveland heads and a 4 speed toploader.

First car I ever owned. This would have been 1975 and I was 18 at the time. It was only a 10 year old car! 65 mustang 3.jpg

  12. @Flatrod17 the Ivy Green one looks just like the one I bought when I got out of the Army in '71.

It's a good car no patch panels, never rusted, and never crashed. Has been painted once though. Has a console, rally pac and disc brakes, A code engine. Green non pony interior.

The 68 1/2 CJ Mustangs were very conservative in the hp that Ford gave them and were a big hit in the 68 Winternationals.

Not mine but I like it for what it is, a plain Mustang Sportsroof with a Cobra-Jet.

I owned a couple but I managed to avoid the paparazzi evidently.

Yellow 69 Mach 1 (I painted it to look like a boss, added window louvers, hood pins, pioneer super tuner w/EQ, magnum 500s, TA's) Wrecked it a few times. I kept extra paint on hand.

White 71 Convertible ( I painted to look like a Mach 1 that they never made, added the hood and tail light panel, fuel door and 66 exhaust rings, cragars, TA's) Traded it for a 69 350/350, 4 speed, Riverside gold, vette.

Of the classic Mustangs, I'd have to put the 69/70 models at the top of my list, followed closely by the 67/68's. I owned a 66 back when I was in college, and I did enjoy that car very much - pale yellow with a black vinyl top, 289 with an automatic and sport wheels. Nice little car. As far as the 71 - 73 models, to me they're a no go item. Too big, too heavy, too ugly. I look at them as re-bodied Torino's with a terrible roofline. I haven't liked them since the day I first saw them. To each their own I guess.

Back in the early 80s I was helping my dad on a job that he was on we drove up into the farm yard in bum fuck nowhere north dakota and there next to the house under some pines sat a yellow 69 boss 302. We started the job and when I found some time I looked it over and wrote down the vin. The car had a black inside,4 speed, window slats and in good shape. I then asked the old guy if he would sell the car he said no he was keeping it for his sun when he came back his wife pulled me aside and told me her sun bought it new want to war and never came back and her husband never excepted it. I ran the vin and it was the real deal,I didn't have a camera with so no pic's the story is true but no pic's just thought it would be cool to tell.

My preference is the 69/70 models also with the 69 being slightly ahead. I like the side ducts, 4 headlights they had. Plus it was the last year for start key in the dash.
