Hot Rods In the beginning..The Byron Schroeder Photos

Yeah, man, I go for the historical record. These photos are the truth.

 

I figure that is a supercharger plumbed up top, any one know what kind? I am guessing a vane type.

 

That is a Type 57 Bugatti, odd horizontal louvers will help ID it. Bob

 

The next group of Photos Byron took ,were at the 1950 National Roadster Show. This is the first Oakland Roadster Show held at the Oakland Exposition Building. I am a collector of anything from the Oakland Shows , so these are dear to my heart! I attended and participated in the show in later years , so these are special.



Al Blazic - 27' "T" Al was a local Machinist who specialized in balancing engines

Vince Gardener - Custom Body - Studebaker Chassis - Plexiglass roof


Don Rocci - 27' "T" - Later the bed was swapped for a turtledeck and it would become the Frank Rose A.M.B.R. Roadster.

Is this the first "Bubbletop"? Sure pre-dates Starbird and Roth.

It has a very short nose, anyone know what engine it had? V8-60 maybe?

Love the history as well. Picked up these yesterday from a guy who put them in his sock draw as a teenager. He included pics of top cars for each year. These are going onto the wall!
