Ok I was driving home and there was a road closing accident so everyone got to sit for about an hour. Well I was out changing my fuel filter and some dude walks up to me and says "neat car, there is a reall old truck down there about 20 or 30 cars" So I finished with what I was doing and grabbed my camera and headed down-stream. I get down close enough to see he had radial tires on and figured out it wasnt a real hot rod!! Well the *** is outside his truck and so I figure I'd call him out on the rim style choice. My words "Hey whats with the rims on here? They look like they belong on a Hooptie. Not a "hot rod" (I made the finger quotes )" So he kinda puts an uneasy smile on and glances around to see where all his buddies are at now. Then before he could answer I asked him why the hell it was on a trailer? I just drove my Saratoga 800 miles without a window and my girlfriend didnt even ***** once. Well I took off after that statement. So We finally get moving again and I am flying through the cars to catch this guy to show him real hot rods are driven. I get caught up with him and sit there and rev the Hemi at him for a while drop back and rev it up some more. He wouldnt even look at me!!!
HAMB'ers, It was great meeting you all this weekend. I just wish I could have cruised around the show with you guys. We all know Vegas has no culture and it shows in the ******* cars that are built around here. Lost little sheep. The rain actually kept a lot of good cars away, but it also weeded out a lot of the sissies. I had to tape up shirts in my windows while the rain blew through. It was great. Gave us an excuse to start drinkin at 9 a.m.!!!!
thank you again for the beer! we got caught in the rains that evening and couldn't stop back to say thank you... tred.
I was suprised to see that many people show up after that storm! ****s that there was no drag racing!!!!
There were some sweet *** rides and some half *** **** but overall it's a killer show and venue. Some thing should be planned for Sunday and Friday night to make it complete
what the hell is up with this truck? ive seen it at the last paso show, is it ever going to get finished or this where all efforts stop?
HAHA, It is owned by a local Vegas pin-striper by the the name of Danny C. He did the grill on my '34 in the previous photos. I know I offered to take the truck off his hands and the price he told me almost made me faint. Too bad the wife doesn't like the truck or it would be in my garage. I can give him a call if you want more info on it.
not really, but thanks. i saw it and it kind of made me mad that they took a good looking truck and did that with the windshield. its not straight, and its really wavy. still has no windshield so tecnically he cant even drive it on the street. o well, maybe next year...
I got a present for you man. Yer gonna love it. No you did not miss a thing. It gets an F- in organization.
Yeah I first saw this one here in SLC... kinda thought the same. He said "bling is the next big thing on rat rods".
That was the whole problem with this show. No control. They had some group out of California "tech-ing/approving cars for entrance". So it's not all Vegas's fault. I had to get my 35 year old Torque Thrust wheels approved and they let these bling blingin' yahoos in with no questions aksed. I can't wait 'till Viva.
Yeah thanks RoadDevil13, by you guys leaving it got turned into that. Well lets all just pray Viva isnt like that. Dont worry about the 20's they wont show up again after ROT HOD Magazine stops printing stuff about them damn "rat rodders" and "patina"
