I love hearing of those old flatties and other vintage mills still being flogged for all they're worth. It is especially impressive to see that an old record still endures today in view of all the modern performance enhancements available and being used ( like better fluids, better coatings, wind tunnel testing, flow bench testing, better machining processes, corporate $$$ backing, etc.).
I sometimes wonder "Did the old record holders just happen to get it all right by one big happy accident, or was there a lot of logical thought combined with endless trial-and-error itterations to achieve success?"

    Amazing...

Jack Kelly used a stock 34 Ford body and wheelbase with nose he made. I can’t believe it’s been 29 years and guys are using car that can fit INSIDE his car let alone have a way longer wheel base….

Here are some shots from speed week with the roadster. We managed 13 full runs with 5 different drivers. Best run was 143.9 which was 17 MPH faster than last year so thats a win in my book. Learned more about what the engine needs to go faster moving forward.

Love your nose. It's what I envisioned for our lakester but didn't have the talent to make one or the money to have one made.

Thanks for the photos. Being a car owner who lets my neighbor race one of my drag cars just because he's a good guy
who helps me I am wondering if you care to share why you let five lucky guys drive your beautiful race car?
Did they each have a unique talent or were you just extending a grateful gesture?

I enjoy sharing the experience with others and hope to light a spark for those who never drove on the salt. 2 of them were team members, shug is my adopted crew chief, and i enjoy working on the car more than driving

I would wonder if you got a better average of speed from the 5 drivers out of curiosity. Seems like you would get some good data and feedback from the car and drivers overall. And lots of appreciation from the drivers. If I were invited to drive it I'm the thinking the average would sink! Luckily, of course I'm not certified! Congrats on doing well. You've done a beautiful job.

I'll bet you're faster next year, you won't need to build a whole new chassis over the winter.

I mis-took it for the red roadster you built a new chassis for in your videos.
