It has 70,000 miles now. 4 speed car that she loves driving. The green '68 was her parents. They bought it in August of '75 , for $2,400 ! It had been stored away around 2000. It took me 5 years but it's running as it should now. She lets me drive it a few times a year. Factory paint and upholstry

Either, though only the first generation and the first year or two of the second — and neither all that much, really.

Camaro guy, back in the 60's I wanted one, by 69 I made enough money to buy one, But due to my street racing and driving like an Ass in general the insurance was more per month than my first house payment, a Camaro did not happen. In 1970 I started racing Midgets and retired from open wheel racing end of 1991 finishing up in winged Sprint cars. Great adventure and memories. 1989 My wife and I were on the way for a Friday night fish fry, stopped by a Chevy dealer and saw a new black Camaro RS convertible on the showroom floor and drove it home, still have and enjoy it, I'm proud of myself for not modifying it, it's an original survivor car I created, never in our Wisconsin Winter weather, always a sunny day hobby fun car, jkcamarocarshow2024.jpg now has 64K miles. Picture is from this summer at a local car show.

The Aloha Bobby & Rose Camaro is the one.

Buddy had a 70 1/2 RS Camaro with the small spoiler, low back buckets, IMO looked so much better than the big three piece spoiler pretty much all of them ended up with. Green on green, it was a beauty.

Also had a blast hammering around in a friend's Bandit 6.6 T/A way back when.

had a 1970 Z/28 back in the old days. had a turbo 400 in it, my buddy had one with a 4-speed. I wouldn't mind having another one.

Smokey and the Bandit T-topped Trans Ams always make me think of "Do You Feel like We Do" from Frampton Comes Alive on 8 track blasting the Panasony 6x9's to distortion while driving down Fremont Blvd on a Friday Night in "the area known as the strip" which is what the cops called it when they gave you a ticket.

    Camaro or Firebird? Both!!

Trans Am humor. When we turned 16 my best friend got a new 79’ Trans Am 400-4sp.-WS6. Black in and out with gold markings, but not an SE so no pinstripes and windshield / rear window moldings not blacked out. Drove it hard five years and traded it for ??

Fast forward 35 years, he’s doing well and decides to get a duplicate. Searches for a year and finds the right car. Buys it and ships it home. He’s excited, and spends the week waiting telling his 13 year old daughter about it. But not what it is, just that it’s just like his high school car.

Car arrives and his daughter is non-plused. Says it’s goofy looking, what’s with the weird bird on the hood, a what’s with parts of the roof that come off. “This isn’t really what you drove. Gotta be some kind of goofy custom.”

He’s leaving town on business. Asks the wife to go into the attic and find a picture of him and his first car to show the kid.

Talking to her the next day he asks if she found a picture. Well . . . I found a bunch, but none really good to show our teenager.

    Why??
In every single one it’s you with the car, no shirt, short shorts, a beer in one hand, and a cigarette in the other!
Yep, that sounds like our crowd in Lauderdale circa 1980.

I’ve always wanted to mix and match. 79’ Trans Am with a 78’ front clip. Best tail with the best nose.

Also wanted to mix Pontiac with an El Camino. Stock body with a T/A shaker and WS6 snowflakes. Grand Prix dash, console, and seats with a Formula steering wheel. Stock rear bumper but replace in-bumper taillights with something built to look like the Gen-1 Firebird slotted taillights.
