Here is my grill. It is a piece of maintainance walkway out of a Boeing jet. It is 1/4" stainless with small perforations.

Here is one getting ripped apart in another thread.
This was seen at Rockabilly Rod Reunion 2006.

If you check % open area you will see round perforated metal is only about 40 while the hexagonal is about 70. I have a catalog from Macsomething at work with both so will add more.

I remember seeing this car in person @ a couple of different places here on the left coast Mainly though @ Harvey's (Johnies) Broiler in Downey @ one of the cruise nights. There was alot of work done to this car, These guys shipped that sucker to the states & hit mostly every thing that they could given their time of stay. The 55-56 Chevy dash is even better in person, I believe that car started out as a coupe???Still very nice like 15yrs later.

if you like this and you don't happen to have a boeing mantenance walk way in your back yard, you might think of pizza pans. they have perforations in the circular style and with time i am sure you could find enough at garage sales or junk stores to fill a grill for cheap. the problem would be that they wouldn't cover the whole grill seemlessly. i guess you could incorporate the spider webs or a stain glass window look as the seems

  10. Where did these come from?
