WVa St Route 2 has great sites.

Frostop in Huntington old cruise in. Has root beer mug on roof. Missed pic doing math on whether the railroad tunnel in front was too low. Had to turn to find a bridge. Huge rail yards rebuilding locomotives. Pic not mine.

Hillbilly Hotdogs Lasage, N. of Hunington WVa on 2, checkout the iron. Picnic tables mixed through all the stuff

 

Interesting place for sure. Not convinced that I want to eat anything from there.

 

Closed Sun a.m. but known well, heard on weekends it's jammed with classics, and bikes. Now we found route, we're driving back with classic. WVa kinda worships the hotdog...stands everywhere.

 

rumors has it that they serve the finest roadkill they can find. the freshest of the freshest, some say it still wiggles in your bun.

 

As they say in their ad campaign, "It's wild and wonderful!"

I stop by a place in Miami often,,that's been selling hotdogs a long time,started in the early 1960s n still doing it.

 

I've seen it on TV, finally found it, so many places along Ohio River. Rt7 Ohio side, Rt2 WVa side.

Quaint little towns and riverfront parks everywhere.

 

A John Denver song comes to mind...........you'll figure it out!

MMMmmmmm . . . Looks like a slaw dog with an A&W! Livin' large in them thar hills!

 

And for Lunch... been eyeing a little place that seems to have a crowd.

 

Frostop has the best root beer. Stumbled on that place 23 years ago on our honeymoon road trip and make a point to stop in for a root beer whenever we're heading west through Huntington. Plus, how can you go wrong at a place right next door to a town called NITRO, West Virginia?

 

Looks even bigger than the old Big Dog at Flying J.

I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but I had never heard the origin of the graphic on the 15oz. Coupe. So which came first, the advertising matchbooks or the image on the fuel altered?
