Please. I’d like to know with the engine installed, how far the bottom of the mount is to the top of the frame rail.

    Thanks.

  2. Don't have a measurement; but it is the thickness of the rubber mount above the frame.

Would either of you know if one used the same rubber mounts that the Flathead used, or were the rubber mounts different and supplied by Hurst?
    Thanks gents!

Using tried and true biscuits on my '37 with a 283. Note also I'm using the U shaped spacers as well.

Thanks, that’s like the setup I used to have, (with the u-shaped spacers) any chance you could get the measurement for me?
    Thanks

Car is assembled now, but it looks like 2 1/2" from frame to bottom of the Hurst.

  10. Not sure why guy that built the '40 I posted earlier didn't use the SP-150 spacers; but Hurst said the were supposed to be used on '35-'40 Fords.

The problem I see is the fact that the 35,36 front crossmember has a shallower drop then than 37-40. If not using a spacer the Hurst mount will sit right on top of the spring clamp U bolts. It happened to me.

This will be for a ‘36 PU, originally it had a 265 with the Hurst mount and the U shaped spacer.
But the reason I needed the measurement is so I can just use a spacer.
Set the engine and transmission in.
Make side mounts, transmission mount and know it will work as I bolt things back on the bare frame.
The 265 sat in perfectly, kinda like Henry had planned for it (never heard that I bet!) so should work out.

To come totally clean, I had done several non-HAMB things to the frame it was on. Issues and life changed. So now staring over with a ‘35 Ford car frame. A couple of 5 on 5.5’s for the front, it would be a full roller.

  13. The pan was close to the U-bolts; but had adequate clearance on the '40 I mentioned. So I can see where the spacers would be needed on a '35-'36 with a flatter crossmember.
