Wednesday in Portland means car show at PIR. I tried not to duplicate pictures of cars from earlier weeks. That said, don't shoot the messenger.

But what it wasn't was factory. They didn't make a retractable hardtop Edsel. But they should have.

This next series was after my feet got tired, grabbed a chair and let the cars come to me.

There were more but you it is hard not to take pictures of the huge wheels that seem to be the rage in the area, when you are seated.

Back to my chair and a cold Cider, wonderful on a warm summer evening.

Nice thing about our parking spot last night was sitting next to the cool down road for the 1/8th mile drags happening on the raceway.

After the cider was gone I had to walk to get another from the concessions, which means more walk about pics.

The concession stand was quite a ways away.

I guess the tail fin sort of gave it away. I scrutinized that Edsel, it was well fabricated. An over the top style car, with an over the top feature.

Was echos of a Country Squire conversation Rattling around in your head while you were walking around the Edsel?

The Edsel pic made me laugh. Back in the day, when Ford was selling retractables, it wasn't unusual to see one parked at the side of the road with the top stuck in exactly that position.

  21. As always, thanks for the pictures and comments Billy. Next time fill your cooler with beverages so you don't have to truck it so far. My Coleman that just fits in my coupe has been though many many car show wars and still is battling.;):)

Mrs BB won't let me strap a cooler in the bed until I make a rubber mat for it to sit on. I have created a monster.

Cool cars! You know, I got asked once, why are you spending all that money on that car and not on a house? I said, how can I drive a house to a car show?

If you lived in a van down by the river you could drive it to a car show. Might lose your parking spot when you get back though.
