Larry, I have tried it numerous times but haven’t gotten much of a response. We always park at the edge of the pavement on the bathroom end of the registration building. We have tried to gather there each year. Last year we gathered along the sidewalk in front of registration. I have always chosen 1:00pm Saturday for a meet up time. Would there be a better time?? How about 3:00 pm. Please chime in if interested. I’ll make up some type of signage.
Might try putting a "meet up time" on your sign so it will be seen as they enter.............and if they have a speaker system, ask them to make an announcement about 15 minutes ahead of time.
I should be there if there is a meet up this year I will try to set my phone alarm to make it if not I will stop & see you mo junk
Back to the top. Only two days until we (host gathering group) leave for the Follies. In the past (five or six years) we have listed a HAMB get together but it has been ill attended. We always wonder with all the HAMB members who attend why so few come by. Again, we will be parked, as always, at the top of the hill to the right of the registration building. Look for Sam's grey PU, Ronnies red 32 and my blue 33 Dodge coupe. Stop by anytime but we will try to put our a sign with the offical meet time. Oh, be sure to bring beer. One of the guys we travel with never buys and drinks everyone elses.
I seem to always forget and end up on the other side of the fairgrounds at the time, but will try to remember. I'm also with some non-Hambers, so it is awkward to ditch them. If you see me and the '40, stop and say Hi
The meeting time will be 1:00 Saturday at the location mentioned. However, some of us will be parked there throughout the weekend and you are welcome to stop by at any time.
Thanks to all who stopped by on Saturday afternoon. To those who missed the show, don't forget that next year is the 50th anniversary.
It was fun to meet so many people that I see posting on the HAMB. I felt a little overwhelmed at times and later I wished I had more time to visit with everyone. I thought we had a great turnout of members.
