That's gold, if you had half as much fun as Elvis you'll be looking for one to put in the garage as we speak!
I love it! Kurt Russell and company enjoyed a Manx in those Dexter Riley movies too! Now, for HAMBERS who weren't kids ( i.e. myself, born '66); dune bugs heydays were '66-'72, and why? Maybe up to '74, but you didn't read about them or see as many in movies/ tv .....Was it oversaturation or just dirt bikes taking their spot?

I’m not gonna lie there is some sort of dune buggy on a VW pan fairly local and very cheap, it’s tempting
Glad you had the opportunity to drive a dune buggy. My high school cars were a Karmann Ghia and an ex-racer 60 sunroof bug with a full roll cage I turned into a Baja bug. The Karmann Ghia had a trailer hitch and I towed a motorcycle trailer made from a VW H- beam front end and even flat towed the Baja bug a time or two with it. Madness! For another enjoyable dune buggy show watch “The grand tour Namibia adventure”
