Putting parts away in a "special place" and then forgetting them is traditional
The only upside is that when I finally find them, it's like Christmas again.

I once hunted high and low for a supercharger I knew I had. Turned the shop and the house over three times over the course of 6 months. Could not find it. A totally unrelated thread on the HAMB mentioned Singer vehicles. I light went on in my head (a dim, 2-Watt light that flickered). I searched back through my emails, and sure enough I had sold the supercharger to someone rebuilding a Singer... 2 years earlier.

Trust me, you can get it back in there if you have enough hammer to force it. But the bore will never be right again. Trying it just confirms how twisted some people are.
