According to an Instagram post by David Freiburger we have lost hot rod pioneer, World War II vet and founder of the So-Cal Speed Shop Alex Xydias.

Sorry to hear…..his beginnings brought a teenager’s direction to hot rods and going fast. Watching his films showed what was happening in film instead of words..

He signed this for me many years ago at GNRS . We sat and talked for awhile , he was truly a very nice man.

We met him years ago at the Grand National and he was the most kind and gracious person you could ever imagine.
