    Hello,

My wife and I almost bought a 50 Ford Coupe with a long trunk. It was going to be perfect for my longboard to fit inside and be able to close the trunk for security when out of sight.

But, as things go, the seller was an A$$@!#@ and my wife stopped the sales pitch as we walked out.

So, over the next several weeks we looked at a lot fo different cars, old and new. We finally came to the 327 powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery project that took us many months of working on it to get the ride just right and safe.

Over the years, we also looked at a 50 Ford sedan and another coupe. But each time, something was not going along with our viewpoint on each one. We stood off to the side and walked away to see what it looked like from a side view. It was fine at a ¾ angle as in a cool photo array, but the side view was off.

The body was fine and the wheel wells worked for any type of custom wheels. But we decided that it was the top that was off one way or another. The coupe was short and stubby. The sedan was tall and to “squarish.” There was a middle ground, but no one made one. So, our ideas stopped for many years.

Then one day another 50 Ford was seen and the sloped chopped roofline was more to our liking, but my wife did not like the height of the chop. So, I tossed around several art drawings and came up with a middle ground.

The rear roof line was part coupe slope and the tallish sedan bulk to give it the Goldilocks … “ahh, just right…” YRMV

I always loved the door panel emblem on the shoebox. But why the airplane? My dad's friend had a 50 more door I painted for him black ,He was a Brit and his first job in America was at Ford in Detroit putting in the fresh air vents under the hood . The car he owned came from that plant an he installed them so he just had to buy it. That's a cool ass story I don't care what you say! lol

  7. I was quite pleased to find a piece of art by non other than Jeff Norwell in the swag bag we received at the recent Jalopy Jamup. That is some pretty standup support. I will also post it over on the antiquated, in case motorcycles aren’t allowed here. B1F932A2-DF3D-4AF5-BF47-5EF44DC81E97.jpeg

This was my childhood next door buddy's car that he and his dad built. I shot this around 1960 I think.

Hello HAMBers. A friend's cool '31 Tudor. It was really cool to scribble it.

    Happy "FAS" to you all.
My nod of approval to the contribution from @jnaki, I always did like shoe box fords.
You all have a great safe and potentially sane holiday weekend.
    Thanks from Dennis.

The very cool yellow 32 Ford, with its very distinctive black and white pin strip detail, is truly an outstanding machine. Rarely does the school bus yellow work well on vintage hot rods, but this example, shows a lot of care and attention to detail that went into this kick ass rig!
    I like everything about it!
Thanks from Dennis for capturing this elegant exercise in YELLOW!

A coupla pix from the sixties. A T with a 392 hemi l striped for a friend while home on leave in 1965. A staged pic of me striping the dash of my cousins deuce in 1967. I had actually done it the year before on another leave. My leather flight jacket was needed that November day as we took about a 3 hour cruise right after the pic was taken!
