Saturday - Pulled off the Packard Oil pan - after removing the power steering linkage and starter, and exhaust pipes and everything else they designed to go under the oil pan. Sunday: Cleaned out 4-5 hand fulls of sludge. Removed the oil pump to replace with an OLDS high flow. Pre-set the adapter kit I have from some Packard gurus. Will attach everything and reinstall. Tranny is done, awaiting install. Need more time. and a good power wash for the undercarriage. I was covered in 50 years of dirt. jon
Rockabilly @ LVMS on sat. No drag racings so I stayed for sunday and got some passes in the Vintage Fuel digger. Last pass was to 1000' and ran a 10.06 @ 125mph.
That's the other set , I couldn't decide... There was just something about my old Stingray bars from the bike I used to tear around town on that were calling... it was a fun diversion..
You should have had time to make that ribbed coil cover to match the oil filler tube...it looks so Cool, wish I could figure out how to send a pic of it (oil tube) to U Oh well you know what it looks like anyway....34toddster

I sold the original HAMBCHARGERS dodge [as seen at the HAMB Drags `06]. actually it was the weekend before. Last weekend I bought a decent `34 ford pickup cab with doors and dash, and WS frame. They`ll go to Chickasha with me Thursday nite or Friday AM. I might try to trade it for something. I already miss that Dodge!
built the carb, dizzy and put in new plugs, got the lake pipes hooked up, installed a new fuse box, wired the brake circuit, running lights and head lights. did a big fat burn out and went for the maiden trip in the floorless buick. man i dig that pontiac torque.
Went to National Gaurds this weekend. Not much other than that. I did decide to sell most of my model A stuff. Longroof fever is setting in, I hope I can shake if for awhile.
Flew out to So-Cal on Friday to meet with a team about the upcoming BAJA 1000. Lengthy meeting on Saturday, got chosen to be a crewcheif (YA-HOO!) probably because me and this other dude, jumped right in when asked to remove motor from Dune-Buggy. Sunday, my buddy Burt and I, did a whirlwind tour of Pamona swapmeet and NHRA museum. Posted a thread with pics. Still waiting on the heads to come back for the Rocket Olds project. JT
Went to the Pileup with Levi Classic, that's enough for one weekend, especially if your an old dude with bad knees. Boy, the Chrome Czars know how to put on an event. Can't wait till next year. Frank
Painted the dash of the 55 to match the roof. Re-wired the whole thing but the stock loom going back. (whew) Got er' done in 3 days. Now its a nice reliable ride. Too bad its going away. Out with the old, in with the new.
I started on my new hot rod project, (29 Ford pickup) by removing the front suspension and then scratched my head about what brakes/spindles I can use on it. Also got one side of the cobbled up headers off so I can design a new set. Something a little different for the 327. Found a 3 Rochester set up on Craigslist and another engine on HAMB. And did a little Photoshop work to get the proportions and stance right. Now I've got to make some big decisions on key components soon so I can keep moving forward on it. -Erik
Ran a four (4) mile race in the morning. Put a new starter on my "T" bucket. Fired up the "T" and drove it to my buddys shop to see his "Speedwagen" project, a Subaru powered VW he's taking to Bonneville next year . The wife and I had a chilly ride going back home but loved every minute of the ride!
I only get sundays off.But i trimed the inner fenders of my 46' ford pickup to clear upper a-arms. set a rearend under a 56' chevy pickup.Made 2 trips to Wally-world.
On Friday I took my 3 cars home from the harbor. Customs was OK, just took some time. Impala was damaged, see my other post. Others were in the same condition as I saw them last time. On Saturday there was a swap meet here, sold a bunch of stuff I got from US. Apparently it was good stuff, I made almost 1 grand in euros!
I finally got to work on the brake system again on my '64 Chrysler now my dailydriver-misery I've been spending 3 weeks-time on has left the 'building'. Had the day off tuesday so I could bring crank/rods/pistons to a machine shop to get balanced. Cruised around town a good part of the day in my '65 convert, soking up a few of the last rays we have overhere. Finished the day with some scrubbin and brushing some Hemi Rockers...
