Here is my Comet a few weeks after I bought it in 1968:

In 1970 it looked like this:

and in 1975 when Grey Baskerville and Bud Lang shot it for Hot Rod:

And what it looks like today:

Li'l Willy 005.jpg My 36 Willys 4 dr. sed. As I got it from a garage in Brooklyn. Luckily all of the parts were there and I was a Willys junkie from 12 years old. The chassis had all of the rivets taken out and the car was in a loft.

Next picture after it was built, I tried to make it as simple as can be but classy and with the philosophy that if I broke down with the car it could be fixed anywhere. 4 cyl. View attachment 6174578 View attachment 6174578 Chevy Nova engine, PG and a narrowed 64 Chevy rear. Leather interior, R&P steering on a dropped tube axle (I know it doesn't"t look dropped) I the axle built by a reputable T bucket shop in CT. Stock firewall, uncut and stock radiator.

Third picture with my wife at some national park I think Yosemite. We attended the NSRA street rod ants in Columbus and when we left the fairgrounds we hung a right and headed west for what turned out to be a 6 week road trip covering 13,000 miles.

Having owned the car almost 40 years the suspension along with the wheels & tires has changed as has the engine and transmission.

After many years the car has a interior but the the exterior remains the same with the exception of a few dents have been repaired and a little black primer where needed, I absolutely love this car. HRP

My 50 Chevy coupe on the day I picked it up after making a deal at a swap meet. Then, after I swapped it to my son, and he built it as a nostalgia D/Gas car. 50003.jpg 20220814_163125 (2).jpg
