Bump this for ya, Mick. Regrets that I can't take off for the travel time this year. Have another GREAT, laid back show, that seems to go by too quickly. And post some pics, real cars and models (1953 Ford PU?)
We missed you but still ended up having a good time. Weather was purrfect so it was fun to hang out and enjoy the break from the heat. I understand when work gets in the way. That is why I missed Salina…. I borrowed Dave’s pics. Dave is the Blue one. Mine is the gold one and Chase my son in law is the four door. Travis is the salvage…. Found out I’m a terrible body man. I lessened a lot so hopefully it will get better..
Another fun weekend Mick! Thank you for the effort to put it all together for us to enjoy. The weather and the company was perfect. Already looking forward to next year!
This was Sancho’s idea and I’ve had a blast getting back into models. Last year’s build, Dave went over the top with numerous modifications, so I thought I would try it. Big thing I learned is I suck at body work. lol! I wasn't going to paint mine and I got to the point that I was done…Here is more pics of my truck. Next year we are doing shoeboxes and we have more guys wanting to get involved so it should be fun.. Thanks Sancho, we are having a blast!!’
Sancho is full of it. Er, I mean, Sancho is full of good ideas. Heck yeah on the shoeboxes for next year. Count me in. I've got several of them on my "to build" list. Knowing my lack of free time, I'll purposely choose an easy one, (think mild custom), try to get it done over the winter, then if time allows before Sept, take a stab at a more complicated build. Not to hijack your Show Thread into a model car thread but you all built some bold designs. Body work is body work, just on a smaller scale. I use Evercoat Pro-grade Color-Change filler. Comes with a tube of hardener, whole can is 13 oz.
Be real kool to have you part of the challenge. I plan on building two shoeboxes. It is one of the highlights of Lead Ain't Dead.
