I need some info on what model that chevy used a front end clip? I know the Nova but I need something to carry more wieght (50 Buick). I was thinking of Monte Carlo, Caprice, even a van. Since you can now get police cars with 9C1 package and they are cheap due to milage, would that be the way to go? Thanks
Camaros weighed 3600 lbs. and have a clip that unbolts. 68-up Novas, too. Montes, Caprice, and vans have full frame. Whatever you use, please cut up a 4 door, or a rusty one, not a nice one.
hey hal, ive got a 50 special and i used a 74 trans am with the ws6 package. i know its just a beefed up camaro but i cant bring myself to put any chevy **** on the buick, every things B.O.P. as far as my cars concerned it dont get any better, and im using the original core support and radiator.
Thanks for the info. The chop and air bags make sense. I have found a no engine, or trans, trans am. It has a pos rear, most likely use it. I sent a pic of the buick and the Willys I finished in Feb this year. I would like to see more pic of your Buick. Thanks Hal
**** that. As many perfectly good other makes and models I've seen totally ****ed over so that somethin Chevy could be put in it's place, I'd say if you find a good one cheap, use the sum*****!
Or the yard will crush it! they get way more out of a few 60-70's US midsize cars than all the wadded up dodge grand caravans in the yard s.
don't sweat using a nova/camaro style subframe...they will more than carry your buick. If you want to stay all buick...get a buick apallo...they were buicks verssion of the nova.....by the way, my boss ahs a radical 52 buick with a 430, air, and all the goodies on a camaro sub....the buick was built in the late 80's and absolutaly no problems at all so far with close to 20 years of long hard road use.
heres what she looked like today. sits right, rides great, corners flat, full suspension travel, hauls booty. now if i just had some floors and a seat.
