That ****s, I have seen and heard of some arriving down here similar of late, seems there are a bunch of people getting on the shiping vehicles band wagon, for the $ not out of love.

Marine insurance may take a while to sort out, however they were sweet with mine when it travelled, even let me do the work and bill for the hours.

    Best of luck.

If they were near that Car with a Forklift, I'd check to see if they did more damage underneath.
Like trying to pick it up with the Forks , or pushing it without taking it out of park ( driveline problems & flatspots on the Tires...)

I have heard some horror stories about shipping too.
( like pushing a rare Aluminum Bodied Car out of a Container that was 5' or so off the ground, with no loading dock or ramps...)

    Mika;
If I can help in anyway let me know. I think I know where there is a tail light but I will have to check to be sure. Gumpa

Comin' together- My Buddy Cliff (DeSoto) works in shipping- he said he will donate the big *** box and bubble wrap. :D (apparently, he receives stuff from overseas all day, and can guarrantee a box worthy of sea travel. now so long as someone doesn't drop the container it's in, it oughtta be o.b.k.b.)

Thanks guys! Perhaps it´s cheaper to pull the corner out and fix the original steel here than ship a huge box overseas. The shipping company turned the response to the docker company so I talked with them, but we´re still in progress.

Update May 17th. The indemnity will be paid by the insurance company of the forwarding agency. They made me an offer which I agreed. First I asked more but the car's salvage value was the upper limit. The calculated end result was more or less the sum of repairing and painting costs plus costs to buy a new tail light and bumber. However the estimated value drop wasn't taken into consideration. This case seems to be closed and I should be sent a check in mail in few days. It really took some time but everything seems to be OK now.

Thanks but almost all trims were luckily save in the trunk. As said, everything seems to be OK now, just waiting my paycheck coming.

I purchased a 64 Rivi from Cali while i was on vacation. The car had hydros and the guy had just purchsed 6 new batteries for it. I took pics of the car while loading it up and the car was straight (cause we all know what hydros do to a car when its abused) plus the guy was an older gent who only used the juice to raise/lower the car. I recieved the car approx 3 weeks later and the batteries had exploded some how in the trunk plus tipped over doing a number on the trunk. The quarters were buckled and the the front spring were busted. To make it worse it also went through a sand storm and it basically ruined the heavy metal flake paintjob in areas...A lesson well learned on my part!!
Another one I know of a 58 Chevy that was an untouched all original car that still had the factory og paint. The guy i know who sold it took pics and video of the car when he droped it off. About a month goes by and the guy contacts him threating to sue him for fraud etc cause the car arrived similar to yours. It totally amazes me what they get away with.

    from nowhere...

transport companies rank right up there with politicians, in terms of sheer, unadulterated, apathy! One week after they let my buddies car roll off the carrier, they dropped my '58 f-100, off one too...bent both bed sides in, and up...the bed WAS fantastic...The paperwork, of course, says the usual: NOT responsible for...blah, blah, blah...
F-'em ! No wonder the guy took the $$$ first! I should have told him " I'll pay you when my ******* truck is on the ground!"
    AAA autotransport...
and American Auto transport...you know who you are!!!! NEVER, EVER use them...they actually beat out politicians, they add "destroy your personal property" to the old "lie, cheat, steal" mix...
That ****s, man...I know how you feel.

I was just reading an article the other day that stated more than 10,000 containers are lost at sea eveey year when they slip overboard in rough weather. Wonder how many of those contain cars.

Happy to hear that the insurance was sorted out.

This might not be the spot to say it, but my little car was really treated with cl*** from the transport company all the way from VA to Austin, TX. If anyone ever needs a good company just pm me. This guy called me every few hours just to let me know things were all right (he was just ahead of a snow storm) and his truck was as clean inside and out as I hoped (and was thrilled to see) my rod was. Good folks.
