    Hello,

I was on my way home from a visit to an old friend and happen to drive by a couple of industrial buildings. It was a short cut to the Coast Highway so I could head home. No freeways as the coastal route is always better, even in some traffic, depending on the time of day.

I still had time to get on the highway before the busy time of noon or a little past 3:00pm after work hours, in these parts. So, if I could get on the Coast Highway by then, the traffic would not be horrendous in the between times.

As I drove past this little up lifted garage door, I spotted some color and with the digital camera and little to no traffic, I slowed down for a quick photo.

I knew there was a reason that the tail of a Cadillac was so familiar. A 1958 Cadillac Convertible like the one from the 1963 movie HUD, starring Paul Newman.

I did not stop for more photos, but when I saw the image on the photo file, it was a good shot with the identifying tail fin, ever so popular at the time of the movie. It was a far cry from being 19, and out and about in a hot rod sedan, when the movie came out. It was a lot different than cruising around in a sharp tail fin 58 Cadillac or even the next series of outstanding Cadillac fins from the 1959-61 versions.

Different, yes, but no envy since the next level 58 Impala was already on the streets with the new Buick Skylark Wire Wheels installed and now, out and about with a modified motor to go with the custom car look... YRMV

I think that's Jayne Mansfield. I remember reading that when she was killed so was one of little dogs.

Hey could have a floor shift in 41. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Maybe even a columbia 2 spd rear end?

  29. Her death created interest in making this type of accident survivable. The outcome was the structural low bumper you now see on the back of freight trailers. They are called, appropriately "Mansfield Bars".

  30. I'm not seeing the golf ball in the hose, but I'm sure it's there somewhere.
