Looking for a complete 9 inch and Speedway Motors has a housing the exact size I need.
Then I was looking at their axles and third members as well.
All seem to be a good price, wondering if anyone here had any experiences with their stuff.
Application will be a street / strip car.
    Thank you

I used one, 62" with 3.71 posi, cadillac disc brakes. I has worked great so far. Biggest problem I had was installing the bolts in the rear end housing and making sure they sealed. Axles are 9+

I bought speedway housing and axles for my 34. They use 31 spline Currie axles. No issues

^^^^^^^^^^^ Guess it depends on how much horse power your running & how much rubber on the rear^^^^^^^^

440 hp, traction lock. Bigger tires. Kind of streetroddy so I won't post a photo.

Thanks for all the quick responses already!
I am probably at about 450HP in this car
Thinking maybe speedway fabricated housing and axle package and QP third member.
Want to save a buck but not spend 2 later on lol

Before I responded, and if its true, I didn't know Speedway's housings & axles were Currie's axles. I would go with the Speedway housing & axles BUT a Quick Performance 3rd. member. Your not "heavy" and didn't mention tubbing out the rear so you should be good to go.

  15. Speedway housings are made in the USA and have internal bracing, I know plenty of high horsepower cars using the housings, me included.

After looking at your pic is that the only "internal" bracing? That's not in the area of "twisting". I am not doubting your claim of " lots of high HP using them" at just trying to learn along with the rest of us!

    That looks pretty nice.
I'm finding that all the speedway housings that I have been looking at, are tapered bearings, is that what you have?
Searching online, tapered vs sealed bearings sems to be the big debate. I can see the hassle of an oil seal change. Speaking of oil seal, does that housing in the pic accept the inner seal?
    Thanks for the help

  19. I use 35 spline Moser axles with sealed bearings, torino ends on the housing

Nothing is made so strong that a right foot to the headlight can not destroy . Kinda like rolling down the window and tossing dollars out the window . Man your the winner !

Just call them , discuss your specifics and they will fix you up.
They specialize in rear ends / components.

Ala-Cart this or that to save a buck..... just cost you more trying to marry supplier/ mfg's as there is always something that seems to just not jive.

Not only does Quick Performance have quality parts, but they have great pricing and customer service. To me, I'll pay up for good customer service these days. I've been to their shop to pick up stuff, nice place to visit. They walked me through a 10 bolt set-up when I knew very little and asked a lot of dumb questions. Very patient knowledgeable people.

  24. Which ever way you go pick up a Lube locker gasket. Clean no leak install. Those 3/8 studs for the center? I put a dab of old style Permatex non hardening sealer around them before I install.Use the copper washers under the nuts, and you should have a dry clean 9 inch.

Thanks everyone! I have used QP before for my 9 inch in GM A body. Ended up getting what I needed for my 64 Fairlane from QP because of the customer service. Delt with Sam from QP and he was patient and great.
