I need some help with a source/part numbers for lefty and righty 3/4” male thread tie rod ends. I want some good quality (MOOH Maybe?) greaseable tie rod ends. I can find plenty on Amazon for example but rarely do the say what thread size they are and rarely lefty or righty. I need 2 of each. Thanks for the assist

Correction: as most of you know, I need 1 end that has the tapered hole in in it as well as the 3/4” threads. I’m sure that most of you can describe what I need better than I can explain it.

Well, the application is important as well. Ie I don’t know if all manufacturers use the same taper.

Edit: I recently bought TREs via Summit for my daily. “Forged Moog”c clearly a cast piece. So be aware.

The part numbers I have for 3/4-thread tie rod ends is LS150 R or L for right or left hand threads. The ones I bought are definitely forged. I'd have to go out to the garage and find the boxes to get the brand, but I'm not feeling well today so...

Oh, fyi the taper is 7 degrees like the typical old Ford tie rod ends, however they are larger sized. You'll have to ream the eyes larger if you have eyes for the smaller tie rod ends. Speedway sells a reamer for not crazy money. It'll last a long time if you use cutting oil and take your time with it.

This is only a 5 year old install. I want to replace the ones I have now because they won’t take grease (it’s not just the zerk). I now know that the fabricator is known for using the cheapest components available so……

  9. Used to have a tool that you filled with grease, snapped over the zerk, hit it with a hammer, and it forced old hardened grease out and fresh grease in. You could also warm up the tie rod ends which may soften the old grease and let them take grease again. I'm guessing that any ends you find now would not be any better quality that the ones you have.

I have that tool, and I fill it with WD-40. Does a heck of a job.

Never knew of that tool, used to use a propane bottle torch.

Well, until the bottle was empty, gotta get another bottle someday…

Used one of these to break grease fittings loose on truck terminal dock plates that no one had bothered to lube for years. Saved a lot of them.
