Windshield Wiper Bob called yesterday and said he was talking to the Hop Up people at the GNRS and they said a new pocket size special is close and the annual will follow late spring or early summer? We can only hope.

I think their ordering and billing procedure may be different form the previous way they did it? There may have been some objections to them charging customer cards or Pay Pal. It was explained to me but I've misfiled that conversation in my mind.

  4. I am interested in getting the latest Hop Up magazine. I just bought 7 previous issues at an auction.

I subscribed like a year ago and have received one book. Seems TRJ virus is contagious.

Don't get your knickers in a knot. They only do one big book a year in the late spring or early summer and last year I think only did one pocket sized special. Understand the guys and gals that do Hop Up are not doing it to make a living, they are a group of people who took over being the caretakers of a historic magazine to ***ure it continues to serve the hot rod community. These people have real world career's and do Hop Up on the side.

I always stop by Marcy’s booth at Back To The Fifties to chat and pick up all the Hop Ups in person.

My knickers are un-knotted thank you very much. I just haven’t heard anything, in fact I had forgotten I had a sub. Maybe it ran out? Hard to tell because no communication from them. I’m not bothered by this or the other magazine, just submitting my experience. I wish them well and am glad they’re doing what they can.

So sensitive. Try hopup@hopupmagazine.com That's where go if I have a question. They have answered me in the past. There are other e-mails but this has worked for me. Didn't mean to offend you.

I'm not offended, that's what I meant by my knickers begin un-knotted. They don't answer emails. Still not offended.

I checked with my Hop Up source today, maybe I'll have something firm in a few days about future issues?

Just received Special No.8! Shipped fast, well worth it! I do miss/want a thicker annual, but I'll certainly settle for this. My Hot Rod sub good till '26, if THEY make it. And yes, I miss RnC and Car Craft badly. I guess the tide is rolling out, but.....I feel it will return.

They put out the pre order before they were even finished being made and had them shipped direct from the printer that’s why the longer wait than normal. I thought they were pretty clear about expecting that.

IMG_6048.jpeg I got mine yesterday and I think it’s thicker than the previous specials, really looking forward to reading it.

The annual full size magazine/ book should be ready January 25’ ish to the best of my knowledge.

Oh! And in case it hasn’t been clarified PayPal will no longer let them run their subscription/ pay as you go type set up. So NO ONE has a subscription. They also posted this with the announcement of special #8 being ready. This one you just gotta go to the website and buy it.

they are hoping to have a new subscription/ pay/ order thing figured out by the time the new issue is ready in January-ish

I ***ume they're aiming to debut the big book at the GNRS? Maybe if the stars align with the moon a new Rodder's Journal may also appear?

Tried to order special #8 when e-mail sent to me , but site would not allow international customers to order.
Sent e-mail no response , was willing to pay shipping ….. currently have all annuals and specials including #7
Great magazine I hope they can get international ordering setup again.

Nope. They’ve posted it all over the internet with this new special coming out. I know it’s easy to miss on the hamb so I figured I’d add the info :)

I may be wrong but I believe they will be available international once the bulk of the printed copies are at hop up head quarters. The domestic issues that have been sent have been sent straight from the printer and I think I read that the printer wouldn’t send them internationally.
I’ll take a Quick Look and see if I can confirm that

IMG_6088.jpeg IMG_6089.jpeg Ok so here are a few snippets from Instagram.
Looks like your best bet to get one internationally is to get one from a speed shop that is carrying them.

I’ll drop a line and see if I get a bite back. But if you have emailed them I would expect a reply inside of 7-9 days. They have always gotten back to me but I know as stated previously everyone involved has at least one or more full time
Jobs going on top of the hopup stuff so they may only check emails once a week.

International Hop Up addict here. Same problem still. no international sale. Long time subscriber. Tried to contact them several times, unfortunately no reply. looking for Special #8 and 2025 Annual. Any speed shops that would carry and ship overseas, please? Yeah the shipping rates for small shops and also the Hop Up crew and subscribers/buyers are horrible, but I am willing to take the risk. Best magazine since 1951 ! ( I even wore my original HU T-shirt the day my son was born in 2007.)

You might try contacting these guys to see if they can help you out:
    www.autobooks-aerobooks.com
They came through with a recent copy of TRJ and shipped it to me. Whether they will (or can!) do international shipping? No idea but you don't know if you don't ask....
