I have just bought an angled distributor drive for the Inglese Quad DCNF Weber manifold I have a question relating to the oil requirements for the distributor drive. Does anyone have or know anyone who has a copy of the original Inglese installation instructions.
A Distributor drive was just sold on Bring a Trailer by Dogleg to Badhorse with a copy of the instructions so i was wondering if any were around.

    Regards
    Joe.

You could call Jim Inglese directly. He may have a copy.

While I don’t remember ever seeing one of these I found info online that Jim Inglese may have only made 25 or so of the distributor angle drives.

The first photo shows one installed on an inline manifold and based on the two holes noted in the second photo there must have been bosses cast on the manifold to bolt it down using those two holes. Also, the set screw in the casting was probably for adjusting the flow of oil to the distributor gears. The 90* fitting at the top is rotated a bit too far clockwise and over the years the tube got bent. If that fitting was further back the aluminum tubing could line up with a 90* fitting screwed into the 1/8” NPT hole behind the manifold to lube the distributor gears in the drive.

  8. I have one of those on my Cobra replica and it goes very well; the DCNF is what you might call a 'sophisticated' carb. The oil pipe you tee-off just behind the distributor on the block, where the oil pressure take-off often goes.

BUT this arrangement supplies way too much oil considering the drive has no real drain back to the block. Mine leaked oil all around the distributor itself. You need to EITHER create a proper drain into the block OR don't use the oil feed but top up the drive with oil from time to time (I did the latter).

I also tried restricting the oil feed using a carb jet but that did not help.

    Hope this helps.
