I've a question for those of you running aprons on a fenderless car. Do they flop all over the place? Have you built any sort of bracing? If so, post a photo of what you came up with. I like the idea of hiding some of the mechanicals, but I hadn't realized how thin those aprons were. Thanks
I've thought about this for some time. I assume you a not using running boards. But to cover and protect the brake rods and to give the bottom of the car a little shape. You already know that they are going to move a little bit. So why not make up some light duty braces for a little support.
The stock aprons are pretty stiff, although I’ve seen some of the repro ones made of lighter gauge metal so those may flopp some.
Mine are originals, so maybe they'll be okay. Juice brakes, so no brake rods. I bought a Boling bros battery/master setup. It's mostly that I want to hide. Thanks
They sit on the running board brackets. Cut the brackets back and make a tag to bolt them to the stub of the bracket.
The former owner of my roadster made some brackets that bolted to the bottom of the frame and used the existing bolt holes in the splash apron. In the pic you can barely see the bolt in the front and back of the splash apron.
