This Skylark is a rare survivor. It's spent its life being cared for, but does show its age. It runs like a top and I drive it fairly regularly in the summer. It's fully inspected, etc. It's fun at car shows, and is the ultimate ice cream cruiser. There's really nothing like old-school power steering.

The V8 has plenty of pep. This has the optional high compression, factory 4 barrel 215 all aluminum V8. In the video you can hear how well it idles, and it moves along smoothly. I haven't taken the car further in a restoration because it's only all original once. I've been on the fence about next steps. But, I now have an opportunity to buy one of my dream cars and need to sell a few from my collection to fund it.

Between the previous owner and myself we've collected many, many extra parts from swap meets and so on. Extra right front fender, bumpers, instrument clusters, light buckets, stainless trim, exhaust, brackets to add air conditioning (AC was an option that year although super rare), trailer hitch, and on and on.

Here's a list of everything that has been done over the past two or so years:
    - Brakes all around
    - Fuel line from the tank to the carb
    - New tires
    - New carpet
    - The original padded vinyl dash was restored by Just Dashes in California
    - I added front seat belts to the factory mounting points (my family members weren't comfortable riding in a car without seat belts)
    - Oil changes / wiper blades
    - New speedometer cable
    - I replaced the radio with one from Retro Sounds, and the dash speaker with a modern one that fit the original mount
    - Added a tachometer

    Areas that need attention:
    - The speedometer doesn't work. I've replaced the speedo cable, and swapped in a speedo from another cluster. I think the problem is at the transmission. I use the Garmin GPS or my phone for a speedo (the Garmin is not included in the sale).
    - The p***enger front floor has a patch, but it's not great. Desert Valley Auto Parts has good floor pans available.
    - The driver front floor is still solid. Could maybe use a small patch, but there isn't a hole. I coated the entire floor in Eastwood rust converter and sealer while replacing the carpet
    - The stainless trim around the rear window has some damage. I have replacement stainless trim ready to go on that's perfect.
    - I also have replacement bumpers. They aren't necessary, but the rear bumper on the car has a couple of dents.

    A couple of notes:
    - Cash only ... or interesting trade (80s Regal; or something eye catching but on the road)
    - I won't hold it
    - No payment plans
    - I won't deliver 20240905_172050.jpg 20240905_172056.jpg 20240905_172102.jpg 20240905_172115.jpg 20240905_172119.jpg 20240905_172129.jpg 20240905_172139.jpg 20240905_172146.jpg 20240905_172204.jpg 20240905_172225.jpg 20240905_172445.jpg 20240905_172454.jpg
