For the past week, both HAMB and Garage Journal have been flaky for me. I get messages that the page is not available and have to reload. Anyone else experiencing similar?
It's happening on two devices. I doubt that is the problem. Could my ad blocker be causing it? It never has before and I've used it for years.
Ok left field question …. Are you trying to go through the APP ? The APP was shit canned 5 years ago.
Not using the App. I've been using Chrome for 10+ years with no problems. Why should I have to change to Firefox? Same thing is happening to the Samsung internet app on my tablet and on my Google Pixel phone. I am using Spectrum cable internet. Never had a problem until about a week ago.
Well you’re posting your question on the H.A.M.B. so the H.A.M.B. is working. Sounding more like your Internet Service Provider is the issue. I made suggestions to try to try to zero in on a possible solution. Chrome has had issue history not solely the H.A.M.B. and was the reason why suggesting trying Firefox as an alternative to see if that would work.
Try clicking on these and see if they come up clear and fine. www.garagejournal.com www.jalopyjournal.com
I’ve been on the road and just saw this… But I can’t explain it… The servers have been humming along with no issues that I’m aware of.
@rockable Hello, Chrome is one of the best around. No need to move to Firefox, Edge or others still hanging around. (but, if you do have access to those other company websites, start them up and see if it is a general error or chrome specific... ) Usually, we can all point to the local servers, cable companies, phone companies etc. Usually if it is around 3 am, then most cable companies or computer server companies run their diagnostics. I can hear the cable box doing things across the quiet room and I am not recording anything at that time. Also, if and when the local cable company wants to do work on part of their system, it takes place during the wee hours of the morning. In our company server, Cox Communications, if a local cable box goes "gazooey," then the several miles around service is halted until the one unit is fixed. They are on it almost 24 hours of the day/night. Once my wife and I were out late, coming home and we saw a couple of company vans parked around a little neighborhood box, with several lights shining inside. It was way past the 5 o'clock PM check out time... A quick call to the local company phone customer service has a "let me reboot your box" choice and that usually does the job. Or the live operator will tell you that service is temporarily halted until the program comes back online. Don't shoot the messenger, but those guys know their stuff. Plus, if it is your cable connection, then there is always the local storefront located in almost every neighborhood, for exchanges. Your choice of rebooting the cable box was a good choice and also, the cable channel box is always recommended to unplug it and count to 10 before re-hooking up the connection, again. The power cable from the wall disconnect, gives the unit time to get things together, is the simple way to describe what happens. Jnaki Many times, we are offered choices to drop the cable company servers and change to a telecommunication server. It seems like a good thing, but everything works and has worked since cable companies were the first to connect everyone way back then. So, patience is a good thing as we all get older. Plus, who is up at 3 am every morning? YRMV Note: If you are still fed up with your connection from the local cable server, you could always switch over to all "mobile data" plan on your phone bill. Just call and add in your tablets, Ipads, laptops to work with over the air mobile data. Your phone does not need a cable home base. Usually, it is its own plan not connected to a wi-fi signal. So, most folks use wi-fi at home for computers, tv connections and other devices. But, the phones, tablets and laptops could switch over to "mobil data" plans. Check out your telephone company plans. Some offer mobile data as part of the whole phone monthly services.
