History Carson-Hauser & Hall top Customs - Lets see them.

Hey 3/8 X 3/8 Ardun, just curious why you re-posted the pic I scanned from my dad's photos that I posted on page 2 of this thread.

 

Not knowing any better, for the longest time I always thought customs were a late 50s early 60s thing.

 

I personally feel the late 40' - early 50's were the best era for customs.

A very early custom from the 30's

 

I think this may be an appropriate place to add this. Taken from Hot rod yearbook 1974. My first hot rod magazine so I have read it once or twice.

I don't know who built this top on Charlie Hall's 51 Cosmo. Most likely done in Tucson. I assume it's the original and if so dates back to the late 50s and still in service.
