I had an appointment with the cardiologist yesterday and thought I would be getting a stent, things did not work out and the blockage was worse than what he originally thought, so instead of getting a tuneup like and old Ford I will be getting an overhaul in the form of a heart byp*** surgery, so keep me in your thoughts and prayers again, I will know next Tuesday when things will get scheduled.

Praying for you. A friend had byp*** a few years ago and he said that he wished he would have had it a few years earlier since he felt so much better. Apparently the blockage had gradually reduced the blood flow so that he had no energy and always felt bad but once he had good blood flow he felt a lot better. Hopefully you will have similar results.

Not that it’s easy but hundreds of thousands byp***es have been done and I personally feel our medical professionals with this procedure are the best… you will be back and feel better no doubt.

Praying for a great result and quick recovery. Study the manual though - in case you need to lend the Doc a hand.

Jeff, I will be thinking of you. You will feel better afterwards, and Thoracic Surgeons really know there stuff. I have had heart surgery twice and will have to have it again. I am almost 71. I was very worried and apprehensive before my first, over 20 years ago. Talking to others in similar situations helped me, and when my surgeon said 'don't worry, I have done two already this morning' really put me at ease. Hope this helps.

The one thing that worries me is the recovery after and not disturbing the sternum bones from healing, thinking you can do something that you no longer should not do like lifting.

Thought I should share this article, https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides...=i@59h/8XjwecdbYOZsz0tOHnVev1imbCC5Ca79yKzHw= In my case it turned out to be #12 good thing I have an excellent Urologist, my first thought was kidneys because I also had nagging lower back pain, turned out they are in great shape. When they did the imaging and found the bladder cancer, the Congestive Heart Disease showed up too, so guys if you have any of these signs don't just write it off as getting older, get checked.

Jeff, if I remember right, they had me up walking in 1 or 2 days, with a walker. They wouln't let you do damage to yourself. I had ***anium staples holding my sternum in place and bandaged up very good. You will be able to lift as usual once healed. They will give you a pillow to hold tightly against your chest for when you cough or sneeze. Worse thing for me is when they pulled the catheter out. I think you will get thru this just fine.

Jeff, I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers daily, just trust in the Good Lord and pray that his will be done.
You have many friends here praying for you and a team of doctors that have performed these operations many times, recovery will be slower than you want but having friends who have had 5 byp***es and are now back to living a normal life and even working on their cars.

Jeff, I pray that God will take care of you and you will have a complete recovery in record time. HRP

My triple was done 8 years ago. I had another blockage that showed up in a stress test in June. I had a 5.5 mm Stent done in July. I feel fine.

With the byp***, the sternum was tough to heal for me. I was back in the gym in 2 months, taking it easy. If you are offered a cardiac rehab, take it.

I don’t come on here often anymore and I see it’s been a while since the original post, but I hope everything is going well Jeff.
