I'm trying to take the stainless off my 4 dr Capri and can't find very many nuts holding it on. I started with the front fender and see just one nut. I don't know where any more are accessed from. I understand there are spring clips holding the trim on but don't know how to do this. Any help is welcome. Thx

Thanks j.a. I have the tool kit that is designed for removing the door handles along with a couple of other tools. I will have to find them again, but I remember there being thin pry type tools. I'll look into the harbor freight nylon tools if needed. I appreciate the info

I purchased a basket case car, stripped to the bone. It was media blasted and most everything was in boxes. The stainless was labelled and taped together. Nice organisation and labelled. But they used masking tape, which was a ***** to remove. The biggest problem was the stainless was removed aggressively and damaged. It also got damage by piling it on top of each other. It takes a lot of time to repair and polish. Keep that stuff separated and protected. Tapping together caused more damage then you can imagine. Patience.

Here's some pics from my '54 Ford that might help. To remove from spring clips, pry the top of the moulding off the clip. When reinstalling, insert the bottom of the moulding onto the clip first.
Beltline moulding......don't use a screwdriver like I did! Use a HF nylon trim tool. Work carefully!

Fender and door mouldings.......same procedure. This'll give you an idea of clip placement. Always work as close to the clips as possible and make sure all the bolted clips are removed first.

Thanks evintho for the pics and info. Helps a lot. Were the replacement clips hard to find? I'm hoping I can reuse mine since most parts are hard to find and pricey. Everything on this car has been very easy to remove, no rust helps.

I found my tool that looks like a two prong fork type pryer. Put it behind the trim at the clip and it popped right off, without damaging the clip, trim or car. I'll be able to reuse them, so far. I really appreciate the info.
