I was looking for a room for... B***, I think... Comfort Inn had one... like Denise said $199 a night. I laughed at the lady on the other end of the line and said "no thanks..."

Wonderful pictures and story! I love figuring out WHO everyone is. I met so many people it's a blur. Thanks for offering me a cookie - I'm sorry I declined (I believe I may have been drinking warbird @ the time and didn't think it would mix well).

My girlfriend booked her room @ the Days Inn on the same website as I did, the same week. She got there before I did and was told she had NO RESERVATION, so there was a lot of "mistakes" going on. However, I believe they never charged her either? She ended up staying @ the Super 8 in the "Jungle Suite" for $110 a night. I wanted the "Cowboy Suite" but my roommates declined to pay more, so we stayed @ the Days Inn.

I would send a letter to Manager of the hotel - it MAY be a franchise, not run by the corporate office AND copy the Corporate Office - even if it is a franchise, they'll get in trouble. There's a website JUST FOR writing complaint letters - I'll try and find it for you.

BTW - Paco & Bobby from Indy stayed at a really cool old motel on the main drag - amazing vintage furniture, clean and $25 LESS than I paid a night @ the Days Inn. That's where I'll be next year. Also, the Morris Diner across the street was the best meal I've ever had @ the Pileup.

I've searched alittle but haven't found a good corp email address to send my complaint to. If you run across one I would certainly apprecaite it if you would p*** it along.

Great show, I am glad I finally popped my Hunnert cherry. It is always fun finding Denise at whatever car show I might be at, you are guaranteed a smile! The drive down was fun too, me DetroitBilt50 and DirtyT caravaned down together along with Hoboy56. At least that was the plan until the Flying Monkey's radiator blew up right in front of me. Bryan got if fixed though and was only about 2 hours behind us. My car made it there and back without a hitch for which I was very grateful.

    Denise:

Try www.comfortinn.com. It will take you to the Choice Hotel website. They own Comfort Inn. Good luck. Stu

$199?!? I booked 2 rooms at the comfort Inn a week or 2 before the Pileup through Travelocity and got rooms for $109 (actually $98 with my AAA discount). They were trying to take advantage of you. I'd let corporate know about THAT too.

I had heard there were problems with the locals not actually wanting business, so I booked thorugh Travelocity. No problems. Besides, their ads say that they'll take care of any problems for you.

You should definitely call corporate and complain. They'll start figuring it out when there are several calls on the same place
