Can’t see why not, but only concern would be the offset of the wheel, to make sure it doesn’t contact the drums.

Also the drum diameter. If the wheel needs to “tuck over the drum” you’d need to get the tape on things.

  3. Don't know about specific wheels; but here's a picture of a Buick drum in a 14" wheel. The fins needed to be cut down quite a bit to fit inside the wheel. To me, the visible fins being trimmed detracts from the look of the drums; but I think it was described as a problem with a good transition from the cut fins inside the wheel to the full fins outside the wheel.

I don’t really understand the affinity for 14” wheels in this case.
5x5.5 in 14 is a rare bird in my opinion. By the time Ford went to 14s in the 1950s they were using the 5x4.5 pattern.
I just think you’ll have better luck with 15s in the “Model A Pre-49 car and Ford Truck wheel pattern. Yes I know some Mopars and others used the pattern.

Buick Drums..... do Cragars really go with those? I’m not nit picking but I’m trying to visualize that in my head.

Not to complain about using Buick drums but looking at the photo and where the axle pin is supposed to intersect the ground at the center is so far off that it scares me. Last week at the outriders picnic there was one that was almost perfect using 15” wheels and a pretty deep rear offset on the wheel. Quite afew of us noticed it!

Are you asking if 14inch slots of cragars were produced to fit Buick finned drums?

You should be able to find 15” slots in 5x5.5.
    14s probably not.
I think 15s are what you want.

Yes they made 14" 5 on 5.5 aluminum slot mags. I have 6 of them. I run a pair from time to time on my '40 Ford. With '40 front drums I had to trim the squarish edge on the inside of the wheel to clear the '40 drum. Now running F100 drums so no problem. Guess I could try them on my '32 with Buick finned drums when I get home in a couple weeks.

I might. I'll get back to you after our Model T trip is over in a couple weeks.

  13. Why are you set on 14's ???

There's so many more tire choices in 15's as compared to 14's, in 15 inch aluminum slots the big center bore hole is more common than the small bore hole, so keep an eye on that.
Big bore hole 5 x 5.5 for reference

I had a pair of 14 by 6 Torque Thrusts with a 5 1/2" bolt pattern back in the 70s on the front of my truck.
58 Chrysler Imperial has 14 by 6.5 steel wheels with a 5 1/2" pattern too.
