OK tri five chevy experts! I need help. So we're replacing the rear window gl*** and rubber in my wife's 56 chevy 2dr sedan. Right now the car is black and doesn't have any chrome around any windows, just the black rubber in front and back. Also, recently we installed a new headliner, so we also need the rear rubber to have the extra lip that helps hold and finnish the rear of the headliner. The problem I'm having is it seems if the rubber is for NO chrome trim on the outside, then there is no extra headliner liner lip. If you get rubber for CHROME trim, then you get the headliner lip. But what I have learned is that a 55 150 had NO chrome trim AND the headliner lip. BUT I can't find any!!! I have found some listed as 55 150, but after some looking, it has NO headliner lip. So does anyone know of some company that might have what I need??? I'm loosing my mind!!! And running out of places to search! Any help would be much appreciated. So thanks in advance.

Cool. Looks like I'll have to call em and see if it's also for NO outside chrome trim. From what I understand (and I could be wrong) 56 and 57 all had outside chrome trim.

East Coast Chevy here in PA has helped me out a few times. They also have used parts. Good folks. Yes, all '56 & '57 models have the stainless in the gasket. 1955 150 models only had none.

Well I hate to say it but I don't think it's available ANYWHERE. I've call everywhere and even some places that OTHER places suggested. Seems that it is a thing, just nobody reproduces it

  6. Looks like you have to get the 55 seal for a 150 and make a flap to cover the headliner area which is not very much anyways, around 3/4" width. The flap only covers the headliner, it does not actually hold it in place. A strip of rubber AFTER the gl*** install ,rubber cement and be done with it.

Only other choice is to use the 56/57 seal with outside trim painted flat black. If it was me I would go with the first idea.

Correct, gasket OP currently on his car is 55 150 only. Also fun fact is 55 had interior garnish trim for the back gl***. Then went to the extra flap in 56 57 on the inside of the gasket and dropped the trim.

What he said! Think a friend has the molding you speak of. But I installed one at a shop. I’ll not do another. Had to drill the holes as I went. Didn’t punch thru the roof but was afraid I would.
