Id throw some supreme wheels on there in a heartbeat with ribion whites! Or,
Jack it up, big and littles and pull the front bumper off and rock a gasser.

    My vote, Path 3. Gasser.

OK everyone, thanks for all the concern. It’s 5:40 am and just got an A+ from Dr. Ben-Zur. I’ve lost count in the 9 weeks of seeing him as to the number of visits. Maybe 2 dozen times. IMG_3096.jpeg

Matter of fact, all my life I scrimped and pinched pennies.
These days I understand the guy with the signature that says
"Money is only good if you spend it"
    Congrats on the doc's report.
So all this proves ;) you need those S/S Cragers

  10. Glad to get a good report! And, I could go either way with your car. I like both looks so I say you need Cragars too.

The older I get, the more frugality seems overrated.

    Hang in there!

Glad you got a good report. Being frugal is good to a point, however we can’t take anything with us on the journey to the other side, like the song says - no luggage racks on a hearse. Spending $s on wheels and tires might not be the best investment but if things get tight you can always sell them.

True, I just can’t believe the cost these day’s. I got more bang for a buck throwing news papers as a teen is where I’m coming from.

Glad things are looking up, almost thought your doc was Charlton Heston!

Never really been a Cragar fan, what about slot mags or Halibrands?

    Cragars.
BUT...don't go too small on ANY of the tires.
Your example car, the front tires are way too small in diameter.

I've got a similar experience money wise. I have money put away for retirement. My financial advisor yes, I can go buy a hot rod, no problem.
So yeah, I don't have much problem buying things that I would NOT have bought while I was still working.

Spend it now while you can enjoy it, if you have enough to "play" a little.

Hilarious to me that this ad misspelled "Crager" multiple times, while the little illustration on the center cap next to the text correctly spelled it with two A's.

Personally, I really like the car with the painted steel wheels, I would see no need to change it if that were my car. But if I did want a set of Cragars, then fuck it, I'd buy a set of Cragars. As said, you're not hurting it any.

  25. I dearly loved the old school Cragars, except they rusted too easily, the newer ones just don't appeal to me as much. Still, the car looks great anyway you look at it and having both sets does give you options. Me, I prefer the steel wheels and small caps......So happy for you for the good Dr. report. Stay healthy and enjoy the car whichever way you go. It's a beauty.

  26. Good luck with your health. Go with the Cragars. And like Jim, the older I get the less frugal I am. Spending my kid's inheritance!

Do it. It's only money, can buy you happiness.

  29. Congrats on a good report! I vote for mag wheels. I like Americans better myself. Polished or the gray spokes. They just say Hot Rod!
