I'm here for my first try at it. Car is a '66, so can't discuss it on this board, but if anybody wants to talk to me look for a yellow Plymouth Satellite.

I was kind of disappointed that here weren't more "hot rods" in the hot rod cl***. I always look forward to see what and who shows up for that. With that being said I still enjoyed watching.

Drag week had the cars but most were in the slower cl***es and not very interesting, day five was just plain boring…
There were plenty fast 55 Chevys though although Mike Finnegan only made day three when his Hemi ate its valve train and put him out. I can’t help but wonder how many Hemis he’s built for the car?

  7. I was shocked too. The winning 37 is a sweet car. There was a decent g***er turn out

  8. He's had a few and I was amazed at how many 55s there were between all of the cl***es

  9. Off topic cars or not ... running in the 6's AND driving them over 1,000 miles in a week is absolute insanity/truly unbelievable.

HUGE credit goes to Alex just for the fact that they've created such a reliable beast but the trophy was definitely earned by Bryant for overcoming so much in order to lay down the quickest p***es.

After watching those two monsters (and the other 6 second cars of Schroeder and Dunphy), I gotta say, it's hard for me to focus on anything that doesn't run 8's or quicker.

Well, you could go do the event yourself in a slower car, and see how hard that is...no one gets off easy in these races!

Drag Week isn't designed as a spectator sport, it's for the racers to have a good time.

Alex Taylor driving the family 55 Chevy came in second for the week. With her dad tuning and riding shotgun her times were well into the sixes and a best MPH of 217 I believe. Alex was wearing her red hat the one you get when you become a lifetime member of the Bonneville 200 MPH club. Congratulation's to the Taylor family.

  13. Indeed. Sorta makes you wonder what else she’s going to come up with.

I think Drag Week is great for spectators too.
You will not go to another race and see this many cars run under 10 seconds in the quarter.

If they have a short SICK race in the spring like they did this year I would like to make it happen. Starts in Michigan, then to Ohio, then Cardova and Illinois then back to Michigan.
I’ve got to talk with a buddy and see if he still wants to participate. I saw another burgundy 64 Fairlane in the background but I did not see it run.

I would have to say that Drag Week is for both the racers and the spectators. I know I sure enjoy watching.
