I have a WTB post in the cl***ifieds, but looking at all options! Called NCA and they have none at the moment. Local parts places are a no go, nothing on the bay...where else can I look???

  3. I'm ***uming it's for a 235...if you have a Car Quest out there, give 'em a shot. They were great when I needed 6V stuff.

NAPA said they can get everything to re-build mine, but can't get a new starter, however, I was told that mine is not re-buildable because the armeture (sp?) is burnt. You happen to have the part number from the one you got at NAPA? Maybe I can give them the part number and they can find me one.

Car quest had one that was listed for the 54, but when I went to get it the gear was smaller.

There is a difference in 6v and 12v. We have a local place, Olathe Armature, that rebuilds old stuff cheap, you may look for something like that. I would give you the spare I have, but you'd have to change the flywheel too. Best of luck.

I bought mine from a local parts house. They had to order it, but it was right around $60 after core and that included a new solenoid. It's a pretty common starter design. I'll see if I still have the box for a part number...

  7. Do you know if you have the original 235? I can't remember the interchangeability between the starters for those engines, but I bet some here does. I usually take my parts with me to match 'em up...you never know if they looked it up right, grabbed the wrong box, etc.
