Some may remember this 33 coupe I bought a couple years ago. An old circle track car built in 66, and abandoned for 50 years. Well we raced it 2 weeks ago at the Pine Tree Jamboree in Winterport Maine.

Video of one of our runs

This a pre-53, flathead only event. Made exactly 100 1/8th mile passes, other than a shifter linkage issue, we had no problems. Nothing broke, didn't overheat, no leaks, 5 different drivers. My 18 year old got the best reaction time .505 and the best et at 10.3. Best of all the original owner\builder's son lives nearby and got to not only see the car again, but rode with me for a couple passes. I couldn't convince him to take the car for a spin himself. Maybe next year. Anyways, here are some pictures along the way.

    Starting in 1966

    More to come

Yes they are! Really nice units, easy to take completely apart and rebuild with only o-rings.

Very cool! Let’s here more about the drive train, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a quick change that looks like that.

Yes - the story will continue. The car isn't finished and isn't fast enough lol. Not sure it will ever be a street car but we'll see. Plans before next years race are a detroit locker & new tires to help with traction and camshaft & valve upgrades to increase power. Would like to be in the mid 9s range in the 1/8th while keeping it as reliable & bulletproof as it's been so far. Updates will be slower as a buddy just bought a 49 Chevy pickup that we're gonna build for next years jamboree, got 11 months to go...

I haven't been there yet - certainly want to take my car over there at some point. It's less than 5m from home.

Nice to see these survivors in revival mode, particularly with a new lease on life yet still in the competitive nature close to their roots....... nicely done with loads of family fun !
